About The Bear

Shop The Bear was created by twin sisters, Jemma and Lucy, with a simple mission in mind. Shop The Bear was created by twin sisters, Jemma and Lucy, with a simple mission in mind. With an understanding that our college merchandise symbolizes who we are and who we are trying to become, the bear was created to bring students together. We work to create simple, classic merchandise that can be worn to everything, all the time. Wear it to tailgates and to class, to relax and to be active. Our consumers are no particular age, shape or gender. They all share one part of their identity; a love for comfort clothing and each other.

Why the bear? An ode to our childhood, the bear is a simple reminder that we carry our experiences and youth into young adulthood. Our memories are a collection of all the things we’ve learned and overcome to be the people we are today. Whether or not you are at college to find yourself, chase your dreams or pursue careers in medicine, fashion, or law, we are all on the same journey forward. So take a step and start your journey wearing @shopthebear_.

Meet The Creators

Lucy (19) is a sophomore at Penn State studying Business and Psychology.

When she isn’t working on @shopthebear_ or her schoolwork, she is watching movies with her roommates, playing Spikeball, tailgating, going for walks or calling friends and family from home.

Her happy place is Cape May, New Jersey and her favorite place to shop is Aritzia. She is so grateful to be doing this with her sister and so excited for what’s to come!

Jemma (19) is a sophomore at Penn State studying Finance and International Business.

Originally from Manchester, England, Jemma loves all things British: Cadbury chocolate, Love Island UK, and good banter. If you see her on campus, she will most likely have an iced matcha latte in hand, listening to Noah Kahan, Ariana Grande, or Sza.

She loves her summers in Cape May and Europe traveling to visit family and explore the world. Her favorite part about creating @shopthebear_ has been collaborating with her sister.
